In 2002, a group of 44 physicians came together to purchase this Manchester hospital. It had been a vital part of our community since 1954 and was in danger of closing its doors.
Today, we are proud of our hospital's longstanding history within our community because it gives us roots alongside our on-going, advancement in medical technology and staff. These two important factors are what allow us to offer experience and technology to better serve our community.
In 2002, we promised the community that we would improve hospital services and build a new facility in the coming years. Today, we are striving to make good on our promise. While still within the planning stages, United Regional Medical Center is set on bringing a new $37 million, modern hospital just down the street from our existing facility at McArthur and Oak.
The replacement hospital will feature the same number of beds for which URMC is currently licensed, 54. The new hospital will also bring an Intensive Care Unit, OBGYN, as well as private patient rooms. No taxpayer dollars will be spent to build this new facility.
Manchester deserves a NEW HOSPITAL NOW and URMC is currently making plans to bring its promise to improve hospital services and community outreach closer to completion.
